India is the spiritual leader and our strong spiritual consciousness is the ultimate source of genius. A child’s IQ is tested on the basis of the three categories
1. verbal
2. quantitative
3. and non-verbal
However, Gardner categorizes intelligence into eight.
1.Logical: Think sequential, analytical, and abstract. This intelligence is capable of long chains of reasoning useful in mathematics, the sciences, and even detective work.
2. Linguistic: Emphasizes itself through word choice, rhetoric, and meaning. Writers and speakers utilize this intelligence when they communicate with language.
3. Musical: This concept is the intelligence of understanding the complex nature of sounds. Pitches, rhythms, and vibrational levels are all isolated and categorized with thisintelligence. Professions as diverse as musicians and auto mechanics can value this intelligence.
4. Intrapersonal: This self-reflective intelligence enables us to define and set goals for performance based upon our previous efforts. Insight into feelings and distinguishing the impact of such things as
mood and behavior are part of this intelligence. Psychologists and researchers share this skill.
5. Interpersonal: Interpersonal is the ability to relate and understand others and communicate effectively with them. Teachers and effective leaders use thisintelligence to send and receive
information with their audiences.
6. Spatial: Image perception, ransformation, and recreating graphic images are elements of this intelligence, including an eye for symmetry and balance and the ability to look at two-dimensional renderings and see the three-dimensional product. Spatial vision is a trait shared by artists and designers.
7. Kinesthetic: Kinesthetic is the intelligence of physical movement. From people who are good with their hands to athletes, this agility intelligence enables individuals to learn through movement of their bodies. This intelligence is as important to a surgeon as it is to a quarterback.
8. Naturalist: This concept is a relatively new addition to the model. It focuses upon the intelligence of classifying, understanding, and utilizing features of the environment. The ability to develop a rapport with animals and nature are characteristic of the naturalistintelligence.
Though we cannot calculate the IQ based on the above catagories, a normal human being will have all these intelligence in different proportions.
Unfortunately for a country that wants to be competitive and highly developed in the next millennium, it becomes necessary to stimulate in early form the new born, and even before birth. However Gardner did left out the most important intelligence which is “The Ninth Intelligence ” – ” The Spiritual Intelligence” this intelligence is the ultimate of all and can be achieved at the early age , while the child is in womb with the constant bonding process between the parents, specifically by the mother. This awareness and the spiritual bonding or connection between the mother and the child will decide the future intelligence of the unborn child.
